Oh, and Bush sucks!
Typical ol' Hollywood, just can't help but to alienate themselves from
the majority of the country. You'd think they'd learn.

I didn't see the whole thing, so I missed the part where they dissed Bush,
but of course you realize that nearly half the voters in this country are
anti-Bush. The remaining 80 million who did not vote probably wouldn't be
alienated by anything anti-Bush, since they didn't care enough to vote, so
that leaves 30% of the nation's voters who even have a stake at being
alienated by Hollywood.

And what did you expect at an industry awards show? Go to the Origins
Awards (the role-playing game industry's awards) and you'll see the
same thing. Admittedly, we have our ceremony in a hotel meeting room,
and there's only a red carpet if that happens to be the decor, but the
theory is the same: An industry rewarding achievements in the field.

Did you see any of the Razzies? They had Halle Berry's acceptance speech
for Catwoman on the news on this side of the pond.

I've seen tape of it. Full marks to her for showing up, accepting the
award and having a great sense of humor about the whole thing.

What's with giving away awards in the aisles?

An attempt to cut down on the notorious time overruns. They did that
and gathering nominees on the stage for some awards to speed things
up.
I think it cheated the winners.. they should get that walk up to the
stage with people cheering, and the chance to look out at the
assembled crowd while they give their acceptance speech.

That's Hollywood's way of saying "you're not important enough to waste
time watching you walk to the stage" so they could focus more on patting
themselves on the back.

The steps to the podium are much too steep for the Little People.
