Nancy Pelosi Says Something Sensible |

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of President George W. Bush's fiercest political
opponents at home took his side on Thursday, calling Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez a "thug" for his remark that Bush is like the devil.
"Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an
everyday thug," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said at a news
conference, referring to Chavez' comments in a U.N. General Assembly speech
on Wednesday.
"Hugo Chavez abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United
Nations," said Pelosi, a frequent Bush critic. "He demeaned himself and he
demeaned Venezuela...

Yeah, I heard that sound bite on the radio. On the other hand I also heard
the Chavez speech through an interpreter. What I don't get, is why Nancy
Pelosi has her drawers in a knot, unless just trolling for a few extra votes
for the Party prior to the election in Nov. You know, if everyone were as
astute as Chavez about Bush, we wouldn't have his incompetent deluded ***** in
office right now, etc., etc.

Oh my, did someone insult our exalted leader again? And by comparing
him to Satan? What a horror! What a nightmare! Doesn't Chavez know that
Bush has been chosen by God Himself to lead the world to freedom? How
dare he! What a thug he is! Next thing you know, he will be using some
act of terrorism as an excuse to invade some country and impose his
brand of democracy there, probably the US! He is a threat to the US!
Kill him! Hurry, before Venezuelan paratroopers on a one-way trip from
Havana descend on Disney World to suicide-bomb your kids!
It is always commical to see some Democrat pull her head out of Bush's
***** just long enough to show what a useless fraud her party is.

Funny, but I'd laugh more if it were not for the fact that
something precisely as implausible -- an attack against the U.S.
by Nicaragua, or by Latin American countries inspired by
Nicaragua -- was presented with utmost seriousness in the 80s,
and was used as an excuse for U.S.-backed terrorism against the
people of Nicaragua.

There was a short period of time, admittedly when I knew very little
about him, when I liked Chavez. He had just been elected and it looked
like he was going to use his power in ways I liked. It did not take
long for him to make it clear that he was, well, differently saned.

I am outraged that Chavez would compare Bush to the devil! According to
the folklore descriptions, the devil is subtle, clever, and devious. Bush
is just an obnoxious idiot.
