WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Supreme Court of the eastern U.S.
state of New Jersey ruled Wednesday that same-sex couples are entitled
to the
same rights as heterosexuals, news reports said.
"Although we cannot find that a fundamental right to same-sex
marriage exists
in this state, the unequal dispensation of rights and benefits to
committed
same-sex partners can no longer be tolerated under our state
Constitution,"
Justice Barry T. Albin wrote for the majority's ruling.
The court was split four to three on the ruling, and the judges gave
state
lawmakers 180 days to rewrite marriage laws on same-sex couples.
"The legislature must either amend the marriage statutes to include
same-sex couples or create a parallel statutory structure," the ruling
said.

Great news, everyone - I'm getting MARRIED! That's right - I met this
lovely Judge in New Jersey (funny really, we met while we were in
TK-MAX, BOTH buying a NEW JERSEY) and after we'd finished having
bum-sex he asked me to MARRY HIM!
Of course I said yes (well, what boy wouldn't) and he promised to
change the law so that we could!
I've asked him to change the law so's my puppy (Rags) can marry us too.
I love the Judge very much but Rags has such a lovely warm tongue and
I'm sure you can appreciate I don't want to sacrifice everything I have
....
