New Neo-Nazi Christian Video Game |
Just before the Xmas season a group called "Left Behind Games" will
release a new video game called "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" It is
based on the series of xtian fantasy books surrounding the rapture.
Now get this ... The object of the game is to kill non-Christians,
including gays and lesbians. This is not a joke folks, this is a real
game coming out. If you want to read more about this neo-fascist hate
game check out this site:
Talk to Action
http://www.talk2action.org/story/2006/5/29/195855/959
Here is an excerpt:
"Imagine: you are a foot soldier in a paramilitary group whose purpose
is to remake America as a Christian theocracy, and establish its
worldly vision of the dominion of Christ over all aspects of life. You
are issued high-tech military weaponry, and instructed to engage the
infidel on the streets of New York City. You are on a mission - both a
religious mission and a military mission -- to convert or kill
Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the
separation of church and state - especially moderate, mainstream
Christians. Your mission is "to conduct physical and spiritual
warfare"; all who resist must be taken out with extreme prejudice. You
have never felt so powerful, so driven by a purpose: you are 13 years
old. You are playing a real-time strategy video game whose creators are
linked to the empire of mega-church pastor Rick Warren, best selling
author of The Purpose Driven Life."
These neo-Nazi's are becoming very brazen these days.

Nah, if I didn't condemn Grand Theft Auto, then I can't very well condemn
this.
Darn it. Consistency is sometimes a harsh taskmaster.

Well let's see if they condem killing Xtians and suicide bombers in
churches?

Of course they will! Christians have never been introduced to consistency.

On the other hand, authors of games like GTA will usually be quick
to say "Hey, it's not like we're encouraging people to actually
go out and do this", whereas that's not so clear in this case.
Don't get me wrong. On balance, I like having the game out there
for anyone going on about how "loving" Christians are.
The article also implies that I can choose to play as
the Antichrist if I want to, which only seems fair.

Do you condemn it, if the idea is to suck in teenagers to a religion
and push violence against non-believers?
Do you condemn it if the profits go to a mega-church?
From what I understand, this may be the case, but the blog post I saw
about it was unclear on the facts.

I can't. As far as I am concerned, games are just that, games, regardless of
their subject matter. They do not, and cannot, brainwash people.
Do you condemn it if the profits go to a mega-church?
I don't like it, but I can't condemn it. I'll just have to get used to that
teeth-grinding sound in my head. :-(
From what I understand, this may be the case, but the blog post I saw

The one saving grace, if you'll pardon the irony, is that it DOES seem to be
a huge example of hypocrisy! Religious "family value" fucktards have been
trying to blame videogames for all the worlds ills, now I can play this as a
"Shut the ***** up you hypocritical *****" card.

I notice that none of the super Xtians who come here and preach god's
love or hell eternal have posted anything against this video game.
They must like the idea, sick bastards.

They're just stuck between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand,
no one can argue that this crap isn't pulled straight out of
Revelations;
on the other hand, if they say that they'd have to admit that they've
been
mostly full of ***** up until now. Better to just lie low and hope it
blows over.

I saw this yesterday. This is sick. It isn't a game, its a training
simulator. Most kids who play violent games can easily tell the
difference between fantasy and reality, but kids who are raised by
parents who would get them something like this are exactly the kind
that can't.
