New Poll Shows Americans Were Misled About Terri Schiavo's Condition |
http://www.cwfa.org/articledisplay.asp?id=7857&department=MEDIA&categoryid=life
Washington, D.C. - Concerned Women for America (CWA) says a new Zogby Poll
that accurately depicts Terri Schiavo's medical condition sharply
contradicts findings from earlier polls. New data shows that 80 percent of
Americans disagreed with Judge Greer's starvation order that ultimately
resulted in Terri's death.
"Frequently cited polls on Terri Schiavo's tragic case illustrated a mass
orchestration of public opinion, based on profoundly erroneous information,"
said Robert Knight, director of CWA's Culture & Family Institute. Knight, a
former Los Angeles Times news editor and writer, said, "It's awful to watch
as your fellow Americans are kept in the dark, asked their opinion, and then
that manufactured opinion is used as a political hammer."
But this week's poll asked: "If a disabled person is not terminally ill, not
in a coma, and not being kept alive by life support, should or should they
not be denied food and water?" This accurately describes Terri's condition.
Only 7 percent said people in this condition should be denied, while 80
percent said they should not be denied food and water.
Another question asked in this week's poll is: "Michael Schiavo has had a
girlfriend for 10 years and has two children with her. Considering this, do
you agree or disagree that Michael Schiavo should turn guardianship of Terri
over to her parents?" These facts were widely unknown by the American public
throughout Terri's battle. In the poll, 56 percent of Americans agreed that
Michael Schiavo should have turned over Terri's guardianship to his parents
due to the conflict of interest provided by his adultery, with 35 percent
disagreeing.
When asked, "Do you agree or disagree that it is proper for the federal
government to intervene when basic civil rights are being denied?" 73
percent said they agreed with the federal government's intervention, with
only 18.7 percent disagreeing.
"As Judge George Greer openly flouted Congress' subpoena, and the Florida
Senate rejected emergency legislation, Americans appeared to be saying that
they were okay with Terri's unjust treatment. Yet, when Americans are given
accurate information, the polling comes out quite different," said Knight.

Because you are.
Nah.
You're the idiot that thinks that men cannot be virgins.
We do not need an unloving medical establishment telling usurping our
lives
and possessions.
So you've decided to be pro-choice?
No.
Of course not. You're a hypocrite.
That would not be a loving role to assume.
You callously demanding that women give birth or die trying isn't
loving.

That second sentence was... not a sentence.
I stand by my claim that, if you tell most Americans that a patient is
"not in a coma" (and supply no other information concerning cognitive
ability), they will not be envisioning a patient with the cognitive
powers of someone in a persistent vegetative state, but instead someone
more aware and responsive.
Why do I assume that the people of the USA are so ignorant ABOUT THIS?
Because it isn't taught in school; and the general knowledge about
science in this country is pretty low.

Are you saying that PVS is more alive than comatose?
Why do I assume that the people of the USA are so ignorant ABOUT THIS?
Because it isn't taught in school; and the general knowledge about

Most people are not in a PVS or coma or have a relative in such a situation.

I suspect that's true. More reason why the poll should have been
specific, rather than misleadingly vague.

Then we can now count on your support in allowing women to make their

No *****. I've never whored any woman out and no one I know has, as you
seem to want to imply.
Why do you choose to usurp that right via Pro-Choice, dictatorial
oppresion?
Allowing a woman the option of getting an abortion if she wants one
isn't whoring out women, moron. Nor is it oppressing her either.
Damn, you sure seem to confuse freedom and oppression quite often.
Men have a right for their wives and daughters not to be lured away from
them by rich, covetous pro-Choicers.
Really? Where is that right defined?
Why do you choose to disrespect those rights via Pro-Choice, dictatorial,

Why do you choose to lie about me?

Vegetative life is not any possesion. And the resources to maintaine
this vegetative life were not there freely. They were limited social
resources and it is not honest to be wasted on such idiotic cases.
If the family of Schiavo wished their daugther to resurrect, they had
the powerful resource of the prayer. Jesus said, if you had faith you
could resurrect the dead and to cure the sick, and move mountains, etc.
So this bunch of morons were not good Christians but a lot of whiners
that do not accept the wish of God.
The only people who hace the right to ask the help from modern medicine
are the atheist and the unfaithful. All the others have to pray God to
change his will, or either and more reasonable they have to accept the
Will of God and thank Him for killing this lady. I think this Xians
are sinning by rebelling against God's wishes.

contradicts findings from earlier polls. New data shows that 80 percent of

resulted in Terri's death.
"Frequently cited polls on Terri Schiavo's tragic case illustrated a mass

What a lying sack-o-*****! No, Terri was not in a 'coma'. She was in a
persistent vegetative state, which is even WORSE! You can recover from a
coma.

contradicts findings from earlier polls. New data shows that 80 percent of

former Los Angeles Times news editor and writer, said, "It's awful to watch

that manufactured opinion is used as a political hammer."
This does NOT "accurately" describe Terri Schiavo's condition.
A feeding tube IS "life support" if a person is unable to swallow nutritional
substances, because without the feeding tube the person would die.
The surgical insertion of a latex tube into the stomach in order to
mechanically pump life sustaining water and nutritional substance into the
person's stomach is done to SUPPORT LIFE in a person who's medical condition
would otherwise lead to death within days.
The poll quoted above asks if a "disabled person" should "be denied food and
water".
Mrs. Schiavo was not denied "food and water". She was denied a mechanical
devise which pumped a liquid formula into her stomach.
She remained free to consume all the "food and water" she wanted.
Of course, she was unable to eat "food and water", because to do so would
have led to death within hours from the aspiration of "food and water" into
her lungs.
This is because Mrs. Schiavo was not "disabled". She was in a medical
condition which required "life support" to maintain her life.
When the "life support" was withdrawn, she died.
The poll question was valid but did NOT apply to Mrs. Schiavo.
LAW, as opposed to public opinion, gave Mrs. Schiavo's husband guardianship
rather than Mrs. Schiavo's parents.
When asked, "Do you agree or disagree that it is proper for the federal
government to intervene when basic civil rights are being denied?" 73
percent said they agreed with the federal government's intervention, with
only 18.7 percent disagreeing.
Since no "civil rights" were "being denied", this question also fails to
apply to Mrs. Schiavo's case.
To paraphrase former President Clinton, I guess it all depends on what
"accurate information" means.

No, it doesn't. Terri was not in a coma, she was in a persitant

Ans since she was unable to swallow, she was being kept alive by life

Yet despite the prohibitions of homosexuality as practiced within the
echelons of Roman imperial religious/political life--it didn't stop the Jews
betraying the autonomous, sovereign, common law and constitutional
religious/political rights of the State of Israel by handing Jesus (YHVS)
over to the Romans: "All things are lawful to me, but all things are not
profitable; all things are lawful to me, but I-I will not be under authority
by any; the meats are for the belly, and the belly for the meats.
And God both this and these shall make useless; and the body is not for
whoredom, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body; and God both the Lord
did raise, and us will raise up through His power. Have ye not known that
your bodies are members of Christ? having taken, then, the members of the
Christ, shall I make them members of an harlot? let it be not! have ye not
known that he who is joined to the harlot is one body? 'for they shall
be-saith He-the two for one flesh.' And he who is joined to the Lord is one
spirit; flee the whoredom; every sin-whatever a man may commit-is without
the body, and he who is committing whoredom, against his own body doth sin."
[1 Corinthians 6:12-18]
We will continue to say no to all attempts at assimilation by those who
feign belief as symbolic theology and philosophy of religion drawn from
Pythagorean onomantick hymeneal mysticism--a denial of the hyponomic
character of the hypostatis (eg: The Great Controversy of the Ages; 12 x 6J
= 70J + 3(3²+1)/2 = 457 BCE + 70 weeks = 33 CE) and the personality of
Jesus (YHVS) Christ (The Desire of Ages).
And your denial of the autonomous, sovereign, common law and legislative
basis to the State of Israel.
Geza Vermes, a professor emeritus of Jewish studies says of this exalting
indulgences as repugnant immorality as the self-infatuation shown over the
present discourse by scholars on the 'Gospel of Judas', that "the precise
sum of 30 pieces of silver appears only in Matthew who, as customary, draws
on the Old Testament, here on two prophecies [Zechariah 11:13] and [Jeremiah
32:7-9] {ie. involving Hanameel: the grace that comes from God; gift of God;
Shallum: perfect; agreeable; Anatoth: answers or songs; afflictions;
Benjamin: son of the right hand} wholly irrelevant to the story of Jesus."
[Copyright and Courtesy 2006 The Australian newspaper 15-16 April 2006, p
23]
In this circumstance the promulgation of myths {eg: a pivot upon 30 pieces
of silver as [#43, #43, #9, #30 - Government without Coercion/ Be Chary of
War, #30, #34, #3, #2, #59] as the daemon Solomon - peaceable; perfect; one
who recompenses associated to 8 - 12 September shown below right} essential
to the continuance of symbolic theology and philosophy of religion are
promulgated as the denial of the hyponomic {ie. under law; subject to law}
character of the hypostatis and the personality of Jesus Christ who was
'paradidomai' handed over/betrayed, the 'sin' here is Pythagorean onomantick
hymeneal mysticism as a regime of religious/political governance--as
blasphemy against the name of God [Romans 2:24] and denial of the Jewish
State's Torah based {ie.
Telos ('achariyth) = Arch (re'shiyth) + c² whereby 22/7 as 3W1D ... [7 x 24
x 13 x 49 = 6J or 365.2425 x 293 years] ... 6,000 as 122J3W1D + 9(9²+1)/2 as
#369 with Septet #41 centric on 13-17 September 2001
This hypothetical notion as hyparktikos {ie. really or substantially} deals
with a dynamic contention of opposites expressed between the Roman Imperial
religious/political conception of hyponomos (under law; subject to law) and
its association to the hyponomic character of the hypostatis (eg: 12 x 6J =
70J + 3(3²+1)/2 = 457 BCE + 70 weeks = 33 CE) and the personality of Jesus
(YHVS) Christ.
And this is represented by the Tetragrammation ordering of the letters as
YHV associated with this Hyponomic Principle A-U-M {#341} as cabal {ie. the
secret schemes of a small group of plotters; an intrigue of forced
assimilation [Acts 4:23-27]} which conveys the Thesis {ie. Yod (#10) = A}
and Synthesis {ie. Vav (#6) = M} being as opposites, representing tension
and equilibrium. Where the Antithesis {ie. He (#5) = U} is then the midpoint
connecting the two. The fourth letter of the Tetragrammation, the He (#5),
is also [as Progression,] a point of [outer] tension."
