Thank you for your kind words
Had you known about the site earlier you would have had an inside source to
Mike Newdow as I was doing much of his historical research from Aug 2002,
when he found our web site, until Feb 2004 when he completed his final
brief to the USSC before his oral arguments.

Well, I want to tell you that Newdow's briefs were fantastic. I was
particularly impressed by the historical arguments. Serving as staff
attorney for the [snip] State School Boards Association, I did a powerpoint
presentation on the Pledge case- applying the three tests as the Supreme
Court has in an attempt to infuse some logic into the debate instead of
relying on emotion only. My message was that there was room for debate and
it wasn't just some lark by a crazy Atheist. The best part of my job is
opening eyes at times (in the area of AIDS/school prayer, etc.)
I can't say this publicly due to the conservative nature of our state and
membership (not to mention NSBA writing an Amicus for the other side), but
our whole legal staff was privately rooting for Newdow. When I was
highschool age and in the public school system, I refused to utter "under
God," not because I didn't believe in God but I didn't feel that it was
appropriate in school. I felt the same when I moved down from [snip] to
[snip] to find an elected student council chaplain who did the prayer
before football games. Vindication will come too on the pledge issue
sometime in the future. Thanks for e-mailing me back! What a fantastic
case to be involved in.
Very Truly Yours,

Indeed. However, notice how the writer (and others) must

Let me get this straight - you think these people are disliked because
they hid their lack of belief and also because their lack of belief is
insulting to people who do believe?
And you wonder why people think religionists are irrational?

No; they are insulting- as a matter of course.

As a matter of what course - that they don't believe?

Belief is not required of anyone for anything. Atheists are defined
by lack of belief, not by belief. Occam's Razor is not a belief ding
dong, it's simply what works best in most situation - in otherwords,
common sense.
Sooo, you apparently believe in a lack of common sense.

The person whose comments I posted didn't state one way or the other what
they believed as far as religion went.
The only reference is this:
"When I was highschool age and in the public school system, I refused to
utter "under God," not because I didn't believe in God but I didn't feel
that it was appropriate in school. I felt the same when I moved down from
[snip] to [snip] to find an elected student council chaplain who did the

"Chas" put on his mind readers psychic (or is should that be psychotic) hat
and peered off and decided they must be a non believer or something of that
nature.
It is very difficult for people like "Chas" to understand that there are a
vast number of very religious people, taking in the whole spectrum of
religions, denominations, sects, etc who firmly believe in separation of
church and state, strict separation of church and state.

If you notice, part of it was based on their jobs/position in society.
In this case it was being neutral in presentation since it is the

They don't. No more than theists, that is. Atheists are not a
