Norman Borlaug, an geneticist and nobel laureat, is credited with saving one
billion people from starvation by developing hardy strains of wheat.
The Pope is not worthy to lick Norman's feet and should keep his fat mouth
shut.
Fucker.

It was shameful that in "this age of plenty and unbridled consumerism"
many remained deaf to the "heart-rending cry" of those dying of hunger,
thirst, disease, poverty, war and terrorism.
....

In his address, the Pope also made a reference to the controversial
case of Piergiorgio Welby, a paralyzed Italian man who was denied a
Catholic service because he had asked to die. Welby, an advocate of
euthanasia, died on Wednesday after a doctor gave him sedatives and
detached a respirator that had kept the victim of advanced muscular
dystrophy alive for years.
"What are we to think of those who choose death in the belief that
they are celebrating life?" he said.

Oh, I don't know, papa. Maybe we should think he was suffering and
needed sympathy and support. He should have known he couldn't get
those form the Catholic Church. He may have at least expected
forgiveness - or even the reassurance that he didn't need forgiveness
- but apparently he couldn't get that from the Church either.
God, if you exist, show us your infinite justice by smiting this pope
with a disease that kills him in an exceedingly slow and excruciating
manner. How about 10 or 15 years of pain so bad he can't even think
about doing anything popish.

Indeed. Funny how no one protesting euthanasia does so from a hospice
bed..

They complain about this Welby guy, but don't bat an eye at Mother Theresa's
Obliettes-for-the-Dying. I guess deliberately withholding medical care
including pain meds and just watching the victim die is more moral than
shutting off the respirator on a sedated patient.
Fuckers.
