NEWS: Here's Proof that there are Atheists in the Foxhole. |
Greetings everyone. Here is a news story from the U.K. that tells us
about a atheist woman's near death experience from a disease in a
hospital. However, she did not do any type of prayer to a
non-existent god or became a theist to comfort herself inspite of the
christians warning that someday she would. So much for the christians
idea of there not being atheists in the foxhole huh?

Not really. They're together than an Army steak and fly so damn low
most SAMs can't get the necessary arming range. Very scary planes.
The gun sounds like a giant letting loose with the biggest fart in the
world.

Not to mention the armour plating those crazy things are laden with.
Not the fastest boat in the sky, but unless you're firing from a tank
mounted machine gun or AA cannon, you're not doing a damn thing to
them.
Getting back on topic:
I'll never forget when my grandmother passed away last March. We were
all by her side, my hardcore Christian aunt and uncle praying by her
side, despite the fact that they were begged not to by the dying woman
herself. A priest arrived - at the request of my aunt - and approached
the bed with a bible and an obscenely large silver crucifix.
My atheist grandmother, barely able to say a word for days before this
moment, turned her head towards the priest now at her side, and in the
loudest, clearest voice I had ever heard from her, almost yelled "get
that garbage away from me!"
I'm not condoning a hatred of religon at all...but there are
individuals in this world who truly are atheists, regardless of their
circumstances. Even when it comes to soldiers, or police, or fire
fighters - the atheists among them don't put their lives on the line
with the comforting opinion that they have eternal life to look
forward to; maybe they do it out of a sense of honour and duty? I'm
sure Dan Rather would disagree with me.

The thing about tanks, you see, is they attract attention. Attention
is *bad* I spent most of my yime in the Army as a light fighter. I
like being able to hide behind trees and rocks.. and the burned out
remains of tanks. :)
Of course, the idiots at the Five-Sided Funny Farm gave us the
Bradley. So now infantry squads are half the size they were, you need
a specialist to drive the damn things, and since they can kill tanks,
tanks will try to kill them.
