Object: Newsweek Letter
A few weeks ago, Newsweek did one of those "Jesus" stories that
attempted to describe a historical Jesus. This week's Newsweek has
some of the letters to the editor, many written by rather irate
Christians who don't enjoy having Jesus treated as a merely historical
figure.
I'd like to reproduce my favorite letter (all due consideration to
Newsweek's copyrights, of course)
-- begin --
In the midst of so much news about the problems in the world today, I
was happy to see a feature article about "The Birth of Jesus" until I
found that the author raised many problems with the Biblical story.
Since millions of people around the world have faith in Jesus Christ
and believe what the Scriptures tell us about his birth, I was appalled
to find prominence given to the doubts and conjectures of those who
question of deny the truth of the Biblical account. Certainly, each
person is free to accept or reject the truth of the Bible, but in an
article that presents something as integral as the virgin birth of
jesus Christ, you should have the integrity to depict it as written in
the Bible.
-- end --
Apparently this is some interesting new definition of the word
"integrity" that I have not yet be acquainted with.

Integrity means Jesus was born through a belly button. And no, he did
not kick Mary while he was in her womb.

I wonder if jebus had a belly button?
Has this pressing theological problem been properly investigated by trained
experts on holy belly buttons? When can we start persecuting those who believed
he had a belly button?
