I have mixed feelings about this. I admit I get a little nauseous
when
I see people I respect embarrassing themselves, but on the other
hand, it's evidence that the Democrats are finally getting smart
enough to realize that in America, stupid people count, and
sometimes you have no choice but to pander to them.
Ralph Nader ran for years with the campaign slogan "If you were
smart as I am, you'd vote for me" and look how far it got him.
I try to rationalize it like this... Whether I believe in Christianity
or not, the Democrats have a vision that's a hell of a lot closer
to what Christ actually said than the Republicans, so why
allow the other side to just walk away with this demographic.
It's not much, but it keeps me from throwing up.

The "left" needs the votes of the sheeple just as much as the right
does. Why is it hypocritical for the left to pretend piety, but not
for the right to pretend piety? (You don't actually think Cheney, et
al, actually believe the crap the Rethugs are spouting?)
