I honestly didn't know that Cassius Clay and Mohammad Ali were the same
person until I saw the movie 'Coming To America'

Scary!!

I imagine there are a lot of people who aren't boxing fans who might
not know that.

That isn't surprising, and such isn't a 'gotcha.' Effectively, Cassius
Clay died and was reborn as Mohammad Ali. One book closes and the
sequel begins anew. I've never heard anyone consider the man a coward.
There were those who were upset that he didn't fulfill his drafted
service in Vietnam, but even they grudgingly acknowledged the man stood
up for his convictions.
The incident and his going to jail for five years was nationwide
headline news.

Yes, but that was back in the 60's, lots of today's folks weren't around
then.

I'm well aware of that. I was putting out a piece of information.

I saw him on a failed "Candid Camera" skit. They left the camera running and
I saw a very intelligent and quiet man who explained who he was and why he
did all the loud and boisterous things he did in and out of the ring.
He said it was always good to have your opponent either real mad at you or
disdainful.

Either way they're off balance and resulting mistakes can be capitalized
on. Is there any link you know of to that skit?
