N.M. planning medical marijuana program |
The only problem I have with the medical marijuana program is the almost
certainty of people,wanting marijuana prescriptions for such maladies as a
hang-nail.Liberals have been known to indulge much more frequently than
normal people in smoking the stuff, so really it is the liberals who are the
main roadblock to this legislation becoming a reality. Kind of ironic, ain't
it?

Gov. Bill Richardson ordered the state Health Department on Friday to resume
planning of a medical marijuana program despite the agency's worries about
possible federal prosecution.
However, the governor stopped short of committing to implement a
state-licensed production and distribution system for the drug if the
potential for federal prosecution remains unchanged.
The department announced earlier this week that it would not implement the
law's provisions for the agency to oversee the production and distribution
of marijuana to eligible patients. That decision came after Attorney General
Gary King warned that the department and its employees could face federal
prosecution for implementing the law, which took effect in July.
The distribution and use of marijuana are illegal under federal law, and
King has said federal authorities have prosecuted citizens for growing
medical marijuana.

Which is *****. Medical marijuana would be perscription only and would
be perscribed for very focused maladies. If a doctor was found perscribing
marijuana outside of its legal use, they could have their license to
practice yanked, or even imprisoned. Medicinal use cocaine has been
available for a long time now, and has worked very well, and been policed
pretty well in the few cases of abuse.
You guys whine way too much.

Young has once again made a fool of himself. Even if someone would
ask for a marijuana prescription for a hang nail, no doctor in his
right mind would go along with it.

just as his similar statement at the start of the year was a lie.

Besides, PLANNING such a program is not illegal, nor is asking for
public input about it. Having the program ready to implement once all
the legal and legislative hurdles are dealt with is good planning and
forward thinking.

Having personally lived through the 1960's I can tell you that Liberals
smoked pot no more and no less frequently than conservatives. The only
difference is that conservatives tended to hide their habits better.
