No more Pay-To-Pray |
In New York City, parking is free on Sundays. Those who support this
say it's not fair to have to pay to park near the church to pray.
Wellll,,,,,, UM...... by that logic, it's also unfair, now even more
so, to have to pay to park at the workplace, school, theatre,
restaurant or anything else.
Therefore, all meters must be removed.

Meters are diappearing all over Seattle. They are being replaced with
solar powered pay stations, but the meters are gone. You can even pay
with a credit card now! Pretty soon it'll take your remaining balance
to park.

As long as it charges the same amount for church parking as for
synagogue parking, as well as for parking for shopping, theaters,
restaurants, arenas, clubs, you name it..... :)

Do they think it's unfair for people who pray on Saturday at their
synagog, to have to pay to park?

A devout Jew, drive a car on the Sabbath?
Surely not.

Good call, there. I think it is, too. I wanted to just mention a few
diverse activities that religion has newly trespassed on. I'm sure
others will make the list longer.
Mayor Bloomberg said he vetoed it because people will take advantage
of it, like, in my imagination parking Saturday nitre and leaving it
there all Sunday so the religious plan backfired. The churchgoers will
have to walk farther.
Yeah, Right. :) Give something of value for free in NYC and you'll be
mauled.
I don't live in NYC but I've been there, and parking could be more
than insurance. It's insane there. Take the train.

Once upon a time in alt.atheism, dear sweet (TheRain@storm.net) made the
light shine upon us with this:
In New York City, parking is free on Sundays. Those who support this
say it's not fair to have to pay to park near the church to pray.
Sure it is. Jesus said that's what the hypocrites do. They should remain
parked on their own driveways and pray in their closets.
