UAW Adds Stipulation To Parking For Reservists
Foreign Cars, Vehicles Bearing Bush Bumper Stickers Not Allowed

A parking agreement between the UAW and Marine reservists may have taken
a political turn.
A courtesy policy that had been in place for years suddenly changed
Tuesday.
Marine reservists from the Marine Corps Reserve Center who were allowed
to park in the lot at the UAW Solidarity House on Jefferson Avenue in
Detroit found that parking privileges had been revoked.
Local 4 reported that foreign-made cars and vehicles with Bush-Cheney
bumpers stickers aren't welcome in the lot...

How about a Darwin Fish Emblem, a Pro-choice bumper sticker, a "Visualize
Whorled Peas" sticker, a "These colors don't run....the world" sticker,
and a Bush/Cheney sticker, all on a Peugeot? Think THAT would cause
enough psychic stress?

Bumper stickers devalue the car. It's insulting to put anything on a
vehicle. A friend that worked at a used car lot told me the dealer
deducts $100 per sticker on all trade-ins, due to the labor to clean
them off.

That's nice, but what does that have to do with anything?
If people want to put stupid stickers on their car that is their business,
even if I agree that it is stupid to do so. (And I have never sold a car to a
dealer, actually I have never sold a car at all, I drive them till they die,
I have owned 4 cars/2 cycles, all were used, none were sold.)
