No Time For Truth in The Great Debates on 't' and 't'.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Labor-Liberal-National-Democrat-Republican are mere labels for the
cliques of plutocracy. The masquerade works so far as the cliques are
perceived as independent political parties, and so give the illusion
of a thriving democracy to the masses. The cliques function in the
interest of plutocracy, by filtering out individuals, whose
objectivity gets in the way, favoring instead those who are prepared
to play the power game, toe the party line and sacrifice truth for the
'interests of the party'.
Since plutocracy owns almost everything-the media- the airwaves and
print, it decides which of the contending cliques is most favorable to
its perceived interests, its 'A-team' who deserves support via
financial and editorial means, more importantly via the same
mechanisms the next most favorable, its 'B-team', becomes its second
choice- the team that it can live with should the A-team prove
unelectable. This fail-safe system of plutocracy is what we call
'democracy'. The Great debates add to this illusion of democracy, as
plutocracy's potential offerings for 'CEO' ***** 'commander in chief',
***** 'prime minister' go about their business of pretentious arguments
and diatribes to turn the miniscule molehills variations in their
domestic and foreign policies, into mountains and chasms of
fundamental difference.
We participate in this farce either through total ignorance or
acquiescence by virtue of the trickle down factor. The richer the rich
become, the richer the crumbs that potentially fall from their table.
Where and how they earn their money or create their wealth is of
little concern to the voters, other things being equal, so long as the
crumbs satisfy them. Whether riches arrive via imperial conquest or
the exploitation of a national industriousness so long as its victims
do not perceive their victim-hood nor protest too much, the masses
will enjoy their share of the material spoils, oblivious to the
history that created them.
While this makes for peace and tranquility on the home front, a danger
lies in perceiving ignorance as a virtue, for to maintain such a
state, ultimately requires the creation of a system of propaganda to
deal with the discrepancies and contradictions when the victims of our
plutocratic chauvinism do protest. No sooner is this fictional
propaganda edifice created but extended time and again to maximize the
returns to plutocracy by over-riding ignorance with deception and
resistance with force. While in reality the national and international
victims of plutocracy grow in number, the general public consciousness
of their existence declines, hidden by the general flag-waving,
breast-beating chauvinism that contenders for the plutocrat crown like
to portray as 'patriotism'.
The great debates thus never address the real objective difference
between the East-West, North-South, the disparities in wealth or the
religious and ethnic divisions that fuel tensions and the real
conflicts that make one a potential victim. Plutocracy's goal is not
to change objective reality but to profit by its presence. If
plutocracy chooses to support Jew against Muslim for profit, to
support a Greater Israel, and compliant regimes in the oil rich
imperial creations of the 19th century to further its geopolitical
goals, to promote wars and reprisals that reinforce its agendas for
wealth and profit then such acts are beyond the parameters of polite
political discussion.
Instead of the 'big picture' that includes plutocratic
neo-imperialism and its victims, plutocracy ensures that its potential
CEO's debate within the myopic 't' to 't' subject range of its
preoccupations- 'tax-cuts' and 'terrorists'- the latter being anyone
who has the temerity to react with violent reprisal of their own
against its agendas and interests.
In a rational debate some regard would be given to the reality of
torture, assassinations, massacres, pre-emptive killings, reprisal
bombings perpetrated daily by the imperial forces of plutocracy,
committed in 'our' collective name, and how such acts are going to
make the voter safer rather than less so, from reprisals in kind, both
immediate and throughout this millennium. But such maters are off
topic.
Reality is suggesting that the free lunch wasn't free after all, and
getting the lion's share via outright aggression creates victims whose
existence plutocracy stubbornly refuses to acknowledge, mention, or
debate as an issue- naturally enough- given that they are as much the
victim of their own propaganda as any one else, but leading from the
rear they have willing mercenaries among 'us' willing to do their
military dirty work defending them from the negative outcomes of their
no compromise position.
But 'toughness' as a policy in itself merely increases the overall
level of aggression, since the level of resistance also rises.
Participating in genocide as a final solution to the 'terrorist'
problem merely provides a blueprint for ethnic expansion by Asian
nations using similar methods- as the history of European imperialism,
provided a blueprint for Japan's imperial campaigns during the 1930's
and 1940's. Today's mindless ***** of the walk turns into tomorrow's
feather duster, empires falter- as all the grievances of past become
fuel for reprisal and insurrection. Who becomes a victim is often a
function of the level of chauvinist ignorance and stupidity- ramping
up the risk while ignoring the diminishing returns, as the mindset of
chauvinist adventurism takes hold. Plutocracy has created this
particular European disease- all the world wars follow naturally from
it.
Thus this fail-safe system of plutocracy-that we like to think of as
democracy- turns out to be as reliable as a high-tech space shuttle on
autopilot. The die is cast, so you can forget about the Great Debates
about 't' and 't', providing you with the necessary facts that will
improve your survival chances as an informed 'voter'- the facts are
beyond the pale so far as plutocracy is concerned. What the plutocrats
want to hear about is sanctification of their agenda -how their 'god'
loves private property and what the potential CEO plans to do about
those 'evil-doers' who would tax away their profits or resist
plutocracy's global expansion of their interests. How you land is
largely in the lap of gods who don't exist- realty thus rewards those
go-getters who eat their free lunch before someone takes it away from
them. The plutocrats can live with that and still get a good night's
sleep, safe in their fortified condos- but will you?
Dev Carter.
