Not a lot of people know this. |
This will make Words, Young, duke and Ford happy this Yuletide.
Actually, quite a few do know , but it the best kept non-secret
in the history of England!
It is a statute in the Houses of Paliment (1955 Hansard
(i.e. a British government document anyone on the planet can read),
Churchill's last Government.
And of course most young people do not read Hansard.
So many time I have driven past it.
Three Miles or more of Fencing. Quite incogruous with
the area. America's own little ethnic getto in Blighty!
I still can't but help chuckle to myself, the many times I
have driven past.
RAF (Royal Airforce Base) Lakenheath.
(not the slightest sign have I ever seen that this is
what it is, and all it is. (but if you get up really close you sometime
see a plane or a uniform)

Not that Rural England objects, that part of England
can do with the money it brings.
ps, we know you USAians would not allow it on your
soil. No way!
But , guess what, there are no USAF bases on
