Now tell me there's a God |
Steve Irwin dies after being stung by a stingray in a sea full of box
jellyfish and killer sharks.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/5311298.stm
Quite simply, his luck ran out. No real rhyme or reason and in no way
just. Bummer.

Definitely sad though I do not see how his death provides evidence
for or against the existence of a particular deity.
At least it wasn't his child: whom he dangled, Michael Jackson style, in
front of a big crocodile during one of his shows. Perhaps that is evidence
of divine intervention.

Be fucked he did! He was an experienced animal handler, and knew what
the ***** he was doing. Think about it -- it was his own son, for *****
sake. And no, he didn't dangle the child over its gaping maw, as the
American wowzers would have one believe.
Typical media scare-mongering. Gotta have something to fill the gaps
in prime-time timeslots, right?

He was a real character, and will be missed. He always seemed to be in
control, to know exactly what he was doing.
At least he went doing something he loved.

I never saw the show. It sounds as if he was a cross between Paul
Hogan and David Bewwamy.

Yes, his death is sad, but not surprising given his lifestyle

How many here ride motorcycles? You risk death every time. But sooner or
later, everyone's got to get out of bed and do *something*. Steve Irwin
lived and died his own life. I won't second guess him.

Yup. Our stingrays have wheels.
