San Diego Organization Uses Megan's Law Site For Good
While some are using the Megan's Law web site to alienate their neighbors
and complain, others are using it for a higher purpose.
Dr. Jason Gastrich, Director of Jesus Christ Saves Ministries, saw the
launch of the Megan's Law web site as an opportunity; not to hurt or
alienate, but to encourage. "In 2005, JCSM will be sending a letter to each
one of the 1200 registered sex offenders in San Diego county. We are sending
100 letters each month and we've already received a positive response from
our first mailing."
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries is a San Diego-based, Christian ministry and
501(c)(3), non-profit organization committed to leading people into a life
changing and productive relationship with Jesus Christ. JCSM offers over
80,000 web pages from their site at www.jcsm.org . These web pages include
Bible lessons, poetry, seminary notes, hundreds of pictures of Israel, a
popular MP3 section, and much more.
"We just want to get these people saved and help them find a local church.
This is why we're sending them letters," says Dr. Gastrich. Each letter
contains a gospel message, some scriptures, a list of several churches all
over San Diego county, and a listing of Christian radio stations. They also
include a return address, JCSM's web address, and a toll free number for
correspondence.
"Our prayers are with these San Diegans. We hope they repent from their
sins, trust Jesus Christ for salvation, and find a sound, local church. God
can forgive and help anyone and these people are no exception."

It is a press release. Anyone can write a press release. I could write
one that says the local Satanists will be offereing up goats for sacrifice
to ensure the PPII gets his just reward in hell.
It is written like a news item but it isn't. It is a lie to post
something like that as a item that was carried by a news service when it
wasn't.
