Try alt.music.mp3.hardware - some iPod user in there. There also may be some forums for Ipod.
Sorry I don't have and iPod, I use a sandisk e260 4gb player, iTunes, and a GW Core 2 Duo PC.

Thanks. I think I might have some other problem with my puKer.
It won't restore to an earlier time for some reason and the ipod is
installed only as a storage device and I can't remove it, I had the trial
of F-Secure A/V and when I try to delete the 'storage device' I get an error
message from F-Secure. I asked them how to remove it and I still can't get
it off my puKer.
What a mess.

One thing I would suggest is to ensure that you have all the MS updates

Doesn't need an installation disk. Everything you need is at
Apple.com. You need itunes and the latest firmware and you are good to
go.

the ipod as a storage device for some reason.
I'm having a problem getting F-Secure off my puKer and I think it's getting

I loaned mine to my daughter, who bought a new one and gave it back to
me. I decided to load up my library on the iMac, so I had to reformat
the iPod with the Mac software. It went belly-up. It's now stuck in the
"on" position until it exhausts the battery, then it turns off. When you
recharge the battery, it comes up stuck in the on position. Endless
loop. iPods suck, they really do. $300 down the drain.

I've seen a lot of complaints on this horror journey where people's ipods
freeze up.
There don't seem to be any solutions.
I'm pretty sure my problem is the A/V I can't remove. I get error messages
that I can't do certain certain things and they all say F-Secure on the top.
My kid gave me this iPod, of course he has the best new one... KIDS!!!
