On Arnie being inexperienced |
It reminds me of a scene in Gladiator when the aging Emperor asks
Maximus to take up politics.
M: "Surely not me but an experienced senator or someone who knows the
politics?"
E: "But you have not been corrupted by the politics."
I always believed that a politician should be an intelligent and moral
idealist, rather than someone who "knows the political game".

Both would be preferable. But I think that anyone that thinks that there's
no politics in Hollywood is kidding themselves.

I'd settle for the "young" part.

An "intelligent and moral idealist" would be refreshing; however,
bear in mind that he or she would have to contend with some very
savvy, ruthless political gamers.

Jimmy Carter was an intelligent and moral idealist when he became
President. He was an ineffective wreck when he finally left office.

Idealistic. But in the real world, politics requires knowing how to
play them game.
Take Barry Bonds. Possibly the great power hitter in major-league
baseball history. Put him on the cricket pitch and he's just history.
You have to know how to play the game to win! Arnold barely knows the
rules, let alone how to play the game.
