ON TOPIC & funny |
(*non-Americans skip to the end. You'll find this
interesting & disgusting)
Okay, so the video is now on the Comedy Central
website!
Yes, you can now see the Religious Reich-winger psycho,
Brian Camenker, exposing himself as the complete
jackass that he is. His interview is in the "Mass.Hysteria"
video.
http://tinyurl.com/8b3rl
http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_daily_show/videos/ed_helms/index.jhtm
l
And, while you're there, you'll find a poop load of other
videos dealing with church & state issues and self-appointed
saviors in general.
Gay people: If you've heard of the Reich-wing psycho
researcher & barely repressed homosexual, Paul
Cameron, be sure to click on the "Samantha Bee" link
on the left menu, and look for the story on gay penguins.
* Non-Americans: If you haven't heard of the "Daily Show"
(and, yeah, it does get seen in Europe, though maybe not
widely), it is a comedy show that bills itself as "The most
trusted name in fake news." Unfortunately, they're not kidding.
Millions of Americans -- more than 2 million nightly -- tune
into the "Daily Show" to get the news that no other network
or newspaper will report. Yes. Americans have to literally
watch comedy shows in order to stay informed.
The "Daily Show" even won a Peabody Award, one of the
most prestigious awards given to television shows (if not
the most prestigious) -- now get this -- for it's coverage of
the 2004 election. In fact, the Peabody is so coveted that
Bill O'Reilly, of Faux News fame, has claimed a Peabody
award amongst his many other lies (too numerous to list
here).
As sad as it sounds, a "Free Press" is so dead in America
that comedy shows are doing a better job at informing voters
than 24-hour news networks.

I watched a few of them and while watching "Southward Christian Soldiers"
noted a rate of 666 kps.
Should I worry?

Yes, according to the droolers.

That clip was trully awesome, because in 5 seconds, Helms pretty much
summed up the entire modus operandi of the far-right media pundits,
when he said:
"Of course... Why take the time to do your research when saying it is
so much faster!?"
This one statement sums up the whole problem with the facts and figures
cited by far-right and religious-right pundits and gurus. They simply
state their beliefs as though it is a verified fact, and assume that
nobody is going to bother to research if it's true or not.
Ladies and gentlemen, our non-American critics are correct. Our nation
is getting dumber by the minte, thanks mainly to the influence and
bullying of the far right.

Although I agree that it pretty much summed up the right-wing,
what Helms was responding to was only the second-best exmaple
of right-wing fact invention in the piece.
The best example of right-wing tactics came later, when the
pervert claimed that gay rights groups were employing some
of the same tactics as the NAZIs did.
Seriously, what the ***** is that supposed to mean?
Oh, sure, in their Christianity they'd no doubt pretend it
was a truthful statement, based on the fact that both gay
rights groups and Germany's NAZI party used staplers
in their offices. Or had telephones. Or even mailed letters
on occasion.
It's just an example of the ***** these "Christians" make up
out of whole cloth, knowing that anyone who would take
them seriously is too frigging stupid to ever question the
validity of their statements.

Don't go to hard on us. It's precisely because we were so good
for so long that we're so vulnerable now.
It's like if you have an environment free of predators, and
then suddenly introduce a large cat species. The result is
wholesale slaughter.
Europeans, for the most part, have had to be skeptical.
The Communist regimes of the east, Franco in Spain, Italy's
fascists and Germany's Hitler... most of Europe has a
cultural education in propaganda that Americans are only
beginning to be exposed to. We've just begun our learning
curve.
