ONE GOD OR TWO ? |
ONE GOD OR TWO ?
While on the Cross Jesus said, "Forgive them Father they know not
what they do." To whom was he speaking? Christians say, "God." But
I thought he was God. How can God speak to God if there is only one
god?
That's two gods
There is only one God, right? So if Jesus was God (as many Christians
claim), then was he talking to himself on the cross? Was he, perhaps, a
bit loopy after being beaten and tortured?
Since Jesus is God he sould have been able to forgiven them himself
rather than ask his father for it.

Did you see a spirit just 100 proof you bonehead ? Real spirit is almost
200 proof, ask any bartender. 100 proof alcohol is a just 50% alcohol
drink."Proof"s you count twice like alcohol percentage. Capisci ?

"bonehead"?!
1) The "Proof=50% ABV" rule is an artificial USA invention.
We don't use it here.
It the UK, and it was laid down by an Act of Parliament in 1816
that "a quantity of 100% proof liquor would have the same weight as
12/13 ths of the same volume of pure water at 51°F.
2) "Today Whiskey and especially Scottish Whisky are bottled in the
following strengths:
"80, 86, 92, 101, 114
(http://www.thewhiskystore.de/beginner/mischung.htm)
And have a gander at the "proofs" of fine Scotch Whiskys:
http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/jhb/whisky/malts.html
And don't go telling me that they are not "spirits", or that the Scots
don't know how to measure "proof".
I've been "educated" by an ignorant arrogant offensive Amerocentric,
who advises me to source my scientific reference material from "any
bartender"!
(I guess that should come as no surprise to me, with so many Christian
newsgroups in your header.)

Actually he was originally called Lugh, the three-headed Celtic God.
His image is enshrined in the shamrock ( trefoil), three leaves on one
stem.

Now *you* realize just how silly the idea of Jesus talking to himself (God)
on the cross
truly is. When he says, 'My God, my God, Why hast thou forsaken me?' it only
compounds
the problem But you see, religionists don't have a problem with any of this
because they
*want* to believe Jesus was God. Who cares about any incongruities here?
It's religion.
People who do not see any problems with any of this aren't looking for the
truth about Jesus
and his 'ministry.' They've chosen to put their brain on hold, and resent
atheists and the like
who they feel are trying to 'burst their bubble.' They are goofy. Seriously
goofy in this
regard. But not many people are going to change their point of view simply
because of the
'problem' you've raised. They're simply going to ignore you, me, or anyone
else who points
out the flaws of their faith. They're mindless zombies when it comes to
religion. And that's just
the way they like it. They can't defend their position and are not even
going to try to. They're
perfectly happy believing in the irrational. They believe that Jesus
actually walked on water
and raised people from the dead, for Pete's sakes. If they can believe
*that*, they are not
going to have a problem believing that Jesus-God talks to, and questions
himself, as he's a
dying. (How can God die, by the by?) That's, 'No problemo,' for his Godness.
