Object: One small step for a Lucifer...
Today is the day when (in about fifteen minutes, at a guess) I leave
the comforts of home and hit the road for uni. The next three years
should be...interesting.

Fill your head with as much knowledge as you possibly can -- especially in
regards to the field that is closest to your heart; the one you have the

Good for you. Have fun, but don't forget the books.

Good luck! My advice (like you asked) is to soak-in as much of the
experience as you can but remember that you're there to learn.
Fortunately, IMO, learning can come from many places and take many
forms. Also, IMO, these next years can really be the best time of
your life. Enjoy them!

Well I'm here now, and I've got my internet connection working, I'm
here to learn, and that's going to be my main focus, but I can still
enjoy myself in other ways as well, being within half an hour's walk
of an international cricket ground is going to be fun too :p

Not that kind either.
It's a line from a WW1 marching song...
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile,
While you’ve a lucifer to light your fag,
Smile, boys, that’s the style.
What’s the use of worrying?
It never was worth while, so
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile.
Lucifer was a brand of match, and a fag was of course a cigarette.

Perhaps they are the best years of one's life, but I find it a bit depressing to
consider the consequence: it's all downhill from here, Kid.

Good luck! My advice (like you asked) is to soak-in as much of the
experience as you can but remember that you're there to learn.
Fortunately, IMO, learning can come from many places and take many
forms. Also, IMO, these next years can really be the best time of
your life. Enjoy them!

Perhaps they are the best years of one's life, but I find it a bit
depressing to
consider the consequence: it's all downhill from here, Kid.

Phooey, college years definitely weren't the best of MY life - in fact,
they
sucked. Those years didn't happen until I met the husband ;)

It take a dirty old man to bring out the best in a clean young woman . . .

Hmm, I wouldn't know - My husband's five years younger than moi ;)

yup, dirty young men are lots and lots of fun.

:)

I'm certainly reassured to hear that :)
