Only two gripes about the new Star Wars ep3,< minor spoilers> |
Anakin wants to go to the dark side to protect Amidala from her death (in
his dream), however he has no compunction about killing children Jedi to
save her. What a selfsh ***** for a Jedi.
The only other gripe I had is that when he became Darth Vader and he learned
that Amidala had died, he should not have let out that mourn like he did.
After all, he thought she betrayed him to Obi wan, and also this is very
uncharacteristic of the Lord Vader we know -- he does not waste time on
petty emotions such as regret or loss. The Vader we know is single pointed,
concerned only with bringing the galaxy under one rule -- his -- and to
attain the power of the Dark Side of the Force to achieve immortality in the
universe.

The other thing is when he was being medically attended to and they were
attaching his new black armour/wardrobe there should have been some sort of
dark opera like muisic to accompany it which climaxes after they attach his
helmet then complete silence followed by the first breath we are so familiar
with. I was thinking they would have kicked ***** on that scene, but I think
they didn't do it enough justice. All in all though, I still think it was
good enough to compete with the previous trilogy (ep. 4-6), unlike eps 1 and
2 which I didn't think shared the same spirit or personality of the others.

Think back over the story with Darth Vader being the victim of mind
control. None of his actions make logical sense any other way.

Well one other justification for his slaying of the children is that he
now believed the Jedi were starting to take over the Republic and they
could have been a nuissance to deal with in the future. I guess that's
the reasoning that Lucas used. Of course, he could have tried to
re-educate them towards the Dark Side, but may have felt that they
could never be trusted.
