Object: Oregon goes ahead with medical marijuana program
Lest anyone think that the federal gov't. wouldn't arrest or kill, if
necessary, cancer-ridden or AIDS-ridden marijuana smokers, remember
that no one believed the gov't would kill all those innocents at Waco.

Oregon goes ahead with medical marijuana program
BEIJING, June 18 -- Oregon resumed issuing medical-marijuana cards
Friday, as a result of Attorney General Hardy Myers' opinion that a
U.S. Supreme Court ruling does not invalidate the program.
The Human Services Department stopped sending out the cards but
continued processing applications after the Supreme Court held last
week that federal authorities can prosecute marijuana possession under
federal drug laws, even in states like Oregon, where medical use of the
drug is legal.
"The (Supreme Court) decision has no legal impact on the operation
of Oregon's program," according to a statement by Oregon Attorney
General Hardy Myers' office.
But the attorney general's opinion also says, "The (state) Act
neither protects marijuana plants from seizure nor individuals from
prosecution if the federal government chooses to take action against
patients or caregivers under the federal Controlled Substances Act."
"Starting today, we will mail 100 to 150 cards per day until the
547 applications that the program approved since June 13 have been
mailed," said Grant Higginson, M.D., administrator of the DHS Office of
Community Health and Health Planning.
Oregon has issued 10,421 medical marijuana cards, the vast majority
of them for severe pain, according to the Oregon Department of Human
Services. Patients qualify for the program if a state-licensed
physician stipulates that they suffer from one of nine conditions such
as cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, severe pain, or persistent muscle
spasms, and that the patient may benefit from the use of medical
marijuana.

Is being a fanatic a crime now?
Does this mean we should arrest all those religious wackos running our
government?

Of a certain stripe, I believe it always has been.

Is being a fanatic a crime now?

Apparently so, along with taking a bus to Las Vegas without filing a
travel plan with the police...

Arrest the lot."

"right. We'll be bringing them in too."
