O/T - DIY Computer Building Problem |
I'm looking for help/info on a PC that I'm throwing together for
someone. I've run into a problem that I've never seen before. I had just
about everything in the case and almost all of the wires plugged in.
Next I went to plug in the power supply.
The power supply is an Antec SL350, maybe a year or more old - the
motherboard a brand new Mach Speed P4MST-890. I went to plug the power
supply into the motherboard and the power box has a 20 plug connector,
and the motherboard a 24 plug receptor. WTF? Both the power supply and
the motherboard are ATX form factor.
I checked both units websites and manuals and couldn't find anything to
help me. I did find a manual at Mach Speed for a different motherboard,
a P4MS"D" instead of P4MS"T" that has a 20 plug receptor.
Anyone run into this before? Am I supposed to plug the 20-plug power
into the 24 plug receptor anyway? It fits. Or will I toast the thing?

St. Jackanapes
Yes that is how they are made now.
There is probably a "catch" attached to the MB socket which aligns with a
"cutout" groove on the plug.
Also look for a microscopic "1" moulded on the plug which goes into the hole
on the socket which has a "1", or an arrow indicator, screened on the MB
next to the power socket. There will be 4 holes left over.
Say 10 Hail Marys and switch on.

So the big brave macho Mexican men hunt down a blind and defenseless
animal to make a dessert? Is that what they serve in Tijuana - after a

Well, not actually. When you click the link you go to a page with Zoltar
the Magnificent on it. He seems to be some sort of psychic. He asks your
name, your horoscope, and then he wants your cell phone number. I'm
thinking that since Zoltar is a psychic, why does he need all this info?
The small print on the page gives it away. You're getting signed up for
something that's going to pester you with text messages.
I do like the Zoltar graphic: http://www.yourdestinyrevealed.com/

It's a dish made with chicken
<http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/567/Chicken_in_Mole_Sauce59733.shtml>
Pronounced mo-lay, IIRC.
No photo, but the ingredients sound hideous when they've been all mixed
together. Peanut butter?
Go to a recipe site written in Spanish, you'll get the correct recipe.
It's a really good sauce.
Did you notice that little Google ad to the right of the Mole recipe? It
changes, but when I was there, it said that they could calculate the
name of someone who has a crush on you.
I went to the site, and Zoltar did his calculations. He said that the
person with a crush on me is John "Melty" Loiodice!

Sounds like a case for the Psychic Detectives from Court TV. They'll get
