OT - Share the Love! - Amazon.com |
I just ordered a couple of books on amazon.com, and when finished with
my order, the following screen popped up:
====
Before you finish... Share the Love!TM
Use our Share the Love program to send your friends an additional 10%
discount on the items you've just purchased, and if they buy any of
them within one week, you'll earn credit toward future purchases.
Learn more
====
I noticed the TM there. Is saving a few bucks or making some
money off of other people's future purchases really the same thing as
sharing love with them?
I've purchased quite a few books and videos and other things from
amazon.com, but I thought their whole "Share the Love!" deal is kinda
weird, at least when they try to cloak "help yourself and others save
some money" in some idea of "share the love." Love of money and
saving it comes to my mind, I don't know about anyone else around
here.

What a coinkydink - I just ordered a book and a toy for the witchling off of
Amazon earlier today. I usually just ignore that "Share the Love" thing.
Especially since no one I'm friends with would probably buy the same stuff that
I do.
