Parachutist dies jumping from Eiffel Tower
Tue May 17,10:20 AM ET
A Norwegian man died parachuting off the Eiffel Tower after his parachute
became tangled up in the metal structure, a French police source said on
Tuesday.
The 31-year-old jumped off the second floor of the structure on Monday
night, planning to descend safely to the ground. But his equipment became
caught in the monument and he landed on the floor below.
"The jump didn't happen quite as he wanted," the police source said. "He
died on impact." It is illegal to parachute from the 300-meter (980-foot)
high landmark. The police were not aware of the man's plan and have opened
an investigation.
Hundreds of people, most of them committing suicide, have jumped to their
deaths from the tower which was built in 1889 for an exhibition celebrating
the French Revolution.

I'm inclined to say no. Death by accident is not the same as removeal from the
gene pool by stupidity. Because the parashutist was skilled and even took the
caution of jumping from the second lower platform (giving him much more room to
maneuver than he would have had from the upper platform, I'm inclined to say
this would not qualify.

Probably not. Though, personally, I think parachuting off the Eiffel Tower

The ultimate in stupid ways to off oneself is to repeat a stunt that has
offed someone else.

That what I figured. Oh well.
Speaking of dead people, I snagged a baggy-full of my dad's ashes while my
mom was dealing with the pool guy and went to a local historical house that
he did a lot of work on. Walked around the grounds and casually dumped
handfulls here and there. I know he was a cad, but what the heck. He
wasn't ALL bad and I guess I'm over my initial shock of hearing what he bad
boy he was. Now I feel a bit at peace with the whole situation.
Of course, I was horrified when I got home and noticed I had his ashes all
over my boots. ACK! :)

Oh my, I bet he did.
And I know of two people that tripped down a
small flight of stairs and died as a result. How ironic :/
My gg grandfather was one such person.
Damn, sorry to hear that :(
Falls happen. IIRC, it happened before I was born.
ACK! :)
ARRGGHH! Coffee! Through the nose! Oh, well, I think it's
cleared my sinus--yep, I've got it too. :)

Sure, and at peace is where, imo, you want to be.
