I have been to Mazo beach , and find it to be a wonderful place with
wonderful people . Why can't people like Rev. Overdall just leave people
alone ? Your thoughts please ..........
People of that ilk have an inbred need to be in total control of not
only their own lives but those of others, and by their own definitions.
By embracing strict religion and using its tenets of evangelism as an
excuse to save others from themselves, he places himself in a position
of talking on behalf of deity, a moral high ground that few of his
kind retreat from.
The problem is that monotheism breeds fanatics. By having one god
above all law and reason, we breed people who place themselves above
law and reason by claiming to do God's will.
Since Man created God in our image, it is appropriate that we now
destroy God to save ourselves.

I've been there a few times. It's a really nice beach, but certain
frequenters have made it a place to avoid, a place that attracts the vice
squad, among others...
I'd suggest one travel 25-30 miles north up the coast to San Onofre State
Beach. The parking is not very accessible to nudists. My brother and I
had to walk about an hour south along the coast before encountering the
nude clientele. Once there, though, it was terrific.

It's about 120 miles for me. San Onofre, maybe 95. I prefer Deep Creek
Hot Springs, in the San Bernardino Mountains. It's a bit of a hike, but
that makes the place more worthwhile. It suffered a major burn a few
years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if the recent fires in the area
hit it once again. I remember relaxing with a 12-pack upstream a bit
from the main area, when I let one silver can get out of my grip. The
guy downstream who found it sported a priceless look that said, there is
a god...

God drinks Coors? I think that is conclusive proof that there isn't one, or if
there is he has abysmal taste.
Of course the silver can could have been Sapporo but I have never seen them in
12 packs here.

That sounds like the long way, it's no 45 minutes unless you can walk 10
mph. I think that way in is 6 miles, but it's fairly flat and you don't
have to deal with A-hole Mike at the Bowen Ranch. If you decide to
break down and pay Mike 3 bucks (unless he's hiked the price again) to
drive through Bowen Ranch property (and park there to avoid the Forest
Adventure Pass *****), there's a trailhead that's only 1.75 miles
from the springs. However, it descends from Bowen ranch about 1000 feet
in that short length of trail. Obvoiusly, that means you can't get too
drunk down there, because that climb out can give a healthy man a heart
attack. The hike down is about 45 minutes - which here probably lies the
confusion - but the hike out is easily 2 hours, and painful. It's worth
it, though, and you absolutely have to stay until dusk in the summer
months to avoid heat stroke during the hike up the mountain.
