linux users don't need antivirus like microsoft users as they typically
don't do everything as root.

I thought I heard there are about six linux viruses but you have to check
the readme for dependencies and then run:
../configure
make
make install
and execute the virus binary from a root shell.
Different story if you are running a linux mail server for Windows
desktops of course.

And if you can be tricked into going to that much trouble, you shouldn't
*have* the root password. <G>

That's because Microsoft is *so innovative.
I mean, it used to be that the email virus was a hoax that needed to be
debunked. Then Microsoft innovated...

But you may if you have a system where Windows machines are on your network
and the firewall is a Linux machine.

The worst part is windows users who voluntarily put spyware on their systems.
I'm waiting out the economic depression working at a computer store and we
frequently get systems with 40-50 spyware products installed and customers too
fucking stupid to have a clue why their systems have ground to a halt and crash
all the time.

Try www.freshmeat.org and check under antivirus.
There are lots of systems and also lots of e-mail filters.
