Nice except for the last sentence:
"Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine
or Airman, and their families, prayer is the very best one."
No, our brave servicemen do not need our prayers. Our prayers will not keep
them and their comrades alive and safe from harm. Our prayers will not help
them complete their mission. Praying for them cheapens their sacrifice. The
only person who will feel good about praying for them is the person praying. It
is selfish and arrogant.
Don't pray for them...WORK for them. Work for Veterans service organizations.
Volunteer at VA hospitals or hospitals at military bases. Give to the USO.
Don't just clasp your hands together and pray. That's cheap and easy. It's what
pseudo-patriots do. Go out and DO something. That's hard and it is a sacrifice
that they will actually appreciate. Praying is worthless.

Good point.
If you actually want to send a servicemember in Iraq or Afghanistan a
gift they can use, send baby wipes. I am not kidding you. Those
things are priceless.
