Did anyone using windows XP with Zone Alarm Pro get hosed up as Bush
animation was going on?
My Zone Alarm shut down and reverted to the post installation
settings, with cookie and privacy control off.
It's in the learning mode again.
When Zone Alarm notified me that it shut down, I clicked on restart
and my machine froze. I'm using Zone Alarm v 4.5.594
It's about time to see if they got the v5 issues ironed out. (unable
to do chkdsk in NTFS, dialing out by itself, slow right click menus at
times.)

No viruses, but I had to put my network bridge and anti virus back
into the trusted zone in Zone Alarm.
Back to normal now. Will make an epoch backup and try newest v of ZAP,
then that site again.
I'll let you know.
This was the first time this computer actually *crashed frozen*, altho
it's been hosed enough to power cycle once or twice.

Hey, FWIW, I finally updated to Zone Alarm Pro 5.1.033.000, and the
above issues have been resolved. At first I thought it was dialing out
at startup, but when an update to PestPatrol hosed my machine, I
restored it and decided to get AdAware again, and it found 3 items.
Now I can do chkdsk and have no slow responses on right-clicking
desktop icons.
Details on PestPatrol - many moons ago it's keylogger detection went
away on an update, the site has all programs but keypatrol.exe, and
each update put the path to it back into the registry. The other day
when I updated it, it advised that "ccregvfy.exe" was spyware, but it
isn't AFAICTell. (it's symantec AV). Using PestPatrol's advice hosed
my machine. Google turned up a few people dissing it, too. I think
I'll uninstall PestPatrol.
Spybot s&d works good, too.
Anyone else got recommendations?
I run Windows XP home.
