Yes, I've tried them way more than once, and actually like them. I
also like liver! So there!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!
I don't even know you anymore!! <SOB!>
I have tried those "calf fries," not too bad, but I would not go out of

I'll still pass on them, thanks much ;)
Liver, on the other hand, is just damned good, IF you cook it right. If
cooked wrong, as it seems is the usual case, it is disgusting.
Blech. Calf's liver is totally gross, but I do love a good chicken liver
pate.
Calf liver?

Um... excuse me...

That didn't seem to work on me for some reason. I usually had them burned
or frozen off. Lovely!

Nope, I finally grew out of them. The last time I had a wart was about 20
years ago.

Not as a pet, but I did spend a lot of time catching toads and frogs in my
backyard as a child :)

I smell something fishy about Robyn's story about some doctor
prescribing liver to cure her warts... I did a quick search for wart
cures and didn't find any mention of eating liver to get rid of them,
but I admit I only looked for five minutes or so before I got bored
and gave up. If she can remember the name of her crackpot
doctor who suggested the diet of liver, I would like to see it...

I have heard of liver being used to cure warts, but not
*eating* it. You take a piece of raw liver on the night of the
full moon, cut it into as many pieces a you have warts, and
touch a piece of it to each wart--a different piece for each
wart, BTW. Then you bury the pieces in the light of the moon at
midnight, and as the moon wanes, and the liver rots, the warts
will go away. Maybe her mum should have taken her to a witch
doctor. :)

Oh, I believe it. There are less messy cures than the liver
one, too. The same thing works with an apple, or you can wash
your hands by full moonlight at midnight in rainwater caught in
a silver bowl. I suspect that the emphasis on midnight and
moonlight is headology. It's spooky and mystic, therefore it
must work, sort of thing.

Damn. Too bad I didn't start really studying witchcraft seriously until
about 13 years after my last wart :)
Ah. I was lucky(?). I started very young, what with my two
grandmothers teaching me all that stuff. Once we dropped by to
vist a great-aunt unannounced, and she had a big dinner all
ready to put on the table. She said that her nose had been
itching all day, so she knew that company was coming. She'd
even baked pies. Amazing.

Maybe her mum should have taken her to a witch
doctor. :)
Well, at least now I know why eating liver didn't make them go away!
:)
Oddly enough, these cures often do work. I've successfully
"witched" warts off of people a couple of times. Maybe it's the
placebo effect or something. :)
Could be. I remember more than once when I was in high school thinking,
"Damn, I hope I don't get anymore warts" and lo and behold, guess what
I'd
find on one of my fingers the next day. I kid you not :)

That's the origin of the phrase "worry wart." You can actually get
them just by worrying about getting them, just like hemorrhoids.
And once you get them, worrying about them just makes them
worse... Really...

Ack, don't get me started on cats! Since I've been doing the
stay-at-home-mom thing, my felines have been totally glued to me. I can't
even go to the bathroom without one of them trying to push the door open.
When I get out of the shower, there they are waiting for me. When I go into
the basement to do laundry, there's Alysha right behind me. Go upstairs to
make the beds, there's Kenya looking for attention. Everytime I pass through
the kitchen, they think they deserve to be fed and tell me so in no
uncertain terms. If I sit down for two seconds, Kenya jumps in my lap and
Alysha curls up on my chest. I love them to death, but they're making me
nuts! :)

Changing subject here...
Did you happen to watch the "Proof Positive" show on SciFi last
night? What a crock! The "remote viewing" segment was a complete
load of hooey! I don't give that show very long, nor the "Ghost
Hunters" one that comes after it.

I've watched them both once or twice and I have to agree with your

My cat used to get *into* the shower with me. It was a large
stall shower with a sliding door which he'd slap open. He'd
trot in and flop down in the corner. But then, he'd hop in the
sink and curl up under a dripping tap, too.
