OT: A cute movie... |
I just saw "Elf" and it was actually good. I had pretty low
expecations going in since Will Farell (sp?) annoys me, but this was
actually a cute movie.

I positively enjoyed myself watching this movie, till they got to the
"Santa, (Tinkerbell, God, etc.) really needs us to believe in him."
It points to the painful reality that many believers feel powerful
because of their irrational beliefs. They think that they hold the
universe together in some important way by believing in spite of
reason telling them it is silly. They believe in God, because they
think God needs believers and being one is therefore an important
thing to be.
But till that part, I think it was Will Ferrell's best performance. I
loved his sincere excitement, exclaiming, "These toilets are huge!"

Yeah, I liked it. It accomplished what it set out to do, and it was
pretty amusing. Elf breakfasts... eurrgh!
