The Guardian
The prime minister's desire to invite Ayad Allawi to the Labour
party's annual conference is one of the odder stories to emerge since
Tony Blair vanished into the gangster luxury of Berlusconi's holiday
home in Italy. Maybe the proximity to the sinister Italian premier has
skewed Blair's sense of what is right and what is possible in British
politics.
