OT: A long forgotten detail from 1991 |
In the wake of all the kidnappings and the "Highlander" killings
by the Iraqi resistance, I suddenly remembers something from way
back before the Iraq war. (I say "the" because it was the only
war; this invasion is imperialism.) When the head-chopping
began, the news media did exposes on why muslims do it. ("Xian"
governments pretend they are so much better than muslims, yet
they treated the Moors far worse during the crusades.)
What I recently remembered were the translations of Saddam's TV
speeches in 1991 before the invasion. He instructed his forces
to "knock their heads off". At the time I thought it was a
mistranslation, American propaganda, or just a dumb quote by a
dumb dictator, but looking back, I think he was calling for a
religious punishment of the invaders, much like they are today.
And on the subject of head chopping, I don't believe those killed
deserved it, but when one crashes a party uninvited, one shouldn't
be surprised if the bouncers start ejecting people. The Iraqi
people didn't invite them, so those kidnapped should have accepted
the risk.

Some of those people were invited by Iraqis, that's half the problem.
For instance the new gov. is requesting the support of U.S troops.
Secondly other kidnapees that were 'ejected' include anti-war and
poverty activists whose activities included such heinous activities as
monitoring human rights violations and attempting to feed the poor.
Sure maybe they knew the risks but that's not the same as accepting
them. I do not accept that a foreign aid worker deserves to get their
head chopped just for trying to do some good in the world. I know it
may happen but that's a far cry from saying it's "acceptable".

Maybe the thousands and thousands of Iraqui people murdered in cold blood by saddam did
the inviting.

While George Bush Senior, who had "invited" them to rise up
against Saddam with promises of US help, sat on his ***** and
let them get slaughtered.

No risk. It was their 'purpose.' That was "Jesus'" loving plan for
them-to be in mindnumbing terror for a week or two followed by hefty
screaming as some superstitious nutcase saws his head off.

Yes, I quite agree that the road to world peace and justice is to redress all the
grievances of those centuries, comprehensively, "without mercy" as I believe is the
prevailing sentiment among these holy upholders of righteousness. All accumulated
cultural development since the twelfth century or so should be regarded as suspect,
influenced as it was by infidels. We have it coming.
