A.C.L.U. Goes to College, With Mixed Results

comedian Dave Chappelle — but Mr. Chappelle canceled and not many
students showed up Thursday night for the Hunter College stop on the
American Civil Liberties Union College Freedom Tour.
The event, billed as a concert and a political forum, was an unabashed
effort to recruit young members for the A.C.L.U., which received
two-thirds of its donations last year from people older than 55.
