OT: Another complaint about optonline customer service |
Last week I was in the Bay Area again. I made the mistake of
subscribing to optonline's traveler service.
No newsgroups access.
It's only for the web - why do I need that when I can access it from
anybody else's PC?
And for email - why do I need that when I can use optonline's web
mail?
They don't tell you can't access newsgroups - there's just an
authentication failure.
And what did optimum traveler's customer "service" do? Tell me to
contact Cablevision because they thought it was a newsgroups problem,
not a problem with their local network: their traveler machine not
communicating properly with their newsgroups server.
But from the customer's point of view, Cablevision, optonline.net and
traveler.optonline.net are one and the same.
One ***** customer who is stuck because they have a monopoly on
the broadband he needs to do his job....Chris
