much less "many." We may be annoyed that people keep claiming that a
less than statistically average success rate equals vindication. We
may be tired of having to say this sort of thing again and again, but

You presume much. Nobody's "taken back" by it at all.
The drought persists.
If you want to believe that your "god" would answer the prayers of
drought stricken people by sending an insignificant amount of rain that
won't help them, you merely tell us that you believe in a vicious being
who likes teasing desperate people.

If you want to believe that your "god" would answer the prayers of
drought stricken people by sending an insignificant amount of rain that
won't help them, you merely tell us that you believe in a vicious being
who likes teasing desperate people.

I have never professed a adherence to any religion. You use of the

You must not be familiar with comments in the scriptures about God
and his view of time. Perhaps some knowing Christian will fill in
that gap in your knowledge bank and you won't make such a foolish

When your doctrine forces you to claim that God's reactions are

defend.

I wasn't defending anything to begin with. Merely pointing out that it

To say the very least the rain was refreshing and, I'm sure you will

some minority groups -- don't you agree?

Week 1: Pray for rain
Result: Drought

Week 2: Pray for rain
Result: Drought

Week 3: Pray for rain

Week 4: Pray for rain
Result: Drought

Week 5: Pray for lots rain
Result: Drought

Week 6: Pray REALLY HARD for lots of rain

Week 7: Pray for lots of rain

Conclusion: God answers prayer! Woo hoo! One hit and
six misses equals total vindication of the faith!

You must not be familiar with comments in the scriptures about God
and his view of time. Perhaps some knowing Christian will fill in
that gap in your knowledge bank and you won't make such a foolish
mistake again.

When your doctrine forces you to claim that God's reactions are
identical to those of a universe without God, you have nothing left to
defend.

I wasn't defending anything to begin with. Merely pointing out that it
rained one night recently in Georgia. Now I find that many of you in
this newsgroup seem quite taken back by the news. I wonder why...

Even if you don't personally believe the justification that you brought
up, that is a very common excuse, er, doctrine among Christians for why
prayers are not answered.

Does that bother you, make you unhappy?

You atheists tell people they shouldn't believe. Have you special

shouldn't do?
