OT: Arnold Turns California into a Joke |
I am ashamed that the governor of my state is an Austrian body
-builder turned actor-- not even a good, respectable actor, but a
dumb-***** super hero who can say little more than "I'll be back." He
gropes women and likes the Nazis. What kind of leader, or person,
is THAT?
Californians who voted for the re-call and/or for Arnold have lost their minds.

I don't recall perpetrating the myth that all Californians are
liberals...hell if that were true, Cali wouldn't have been head of the pack
back in the 40's when they sent their Japanese-American population to
concentration camps.
I just said, "California has been a joke for a long time." I still stand
behind that. Cali is in its own category of humorous stereotypes. We have
stereotypes of Southerners and Northerners, but Califonia is in a league of
its own.

who can capture the California vote is over one-fifth of the way home

I was refering to California residents who won the big prize. Hoover
was born in Iowa, Reagan in Illinois, and, sadly enough, Nixon is a
California native.
But all three were residents of California.

You bought the Hollywood/political hype like many other Californians
did, not me. If you REALLY just wanted to oust Gray Davis, you could
have voted someone in who has appropriate experience-- Cruz
Bustmante. But then, Bustmante doesn't have little super-hero
plastic dolls in his image like the Terminator does... Clearly, you
voted for the Holly wood hype.
It is well known that Arnold had some of the best political and
entertainment PR going for him in that race. He has a national hit
movie which helped his name recognition. Name recognition does NOT
mean a person is cut out to for govenor! It only means people know
his name...nothing more! Maybe sheer name recognition is enough
"substance" for you, but it means very little in real leadership
terms to me.
And he himself said he would not have won without his wife's political
connections-- of which she has many. Which does not speak well of
Arnold's leadership ability, only his ability to sleep his way into
political connections. Sleeping your way to office is NOT adequate,
in my book. Maybe it's adequate for you.
You and many Californians need to learn that having money, a slick
public relations firm, sleeping with people who are politically
connected and looking cute on camera is NOT the same thing as having
substance.
As for what happens in the future-- why risk our futures on a nobody
with no experience like an Austrian body-builder/actor who is all show
and no substance and who can't even pronounce the name of his state?
For thinking people who value substance, it's very inadequate. Worse
yet, it just doesn't make sense.

ANYONE win with a majority with so many candidates?! No one can, and
no one did.
Gary Coleman would have been an improvement over the Terminator. At

Everywhere I went today people were mocking arnold with fake german
accents. Damn it's gonna be fun. Whenenver arnold says something we
can do the whole "ja mine fuhrer" with the shoe stomp and everything.
When ever he enters the room you know someone will want to say, "Sieg
heil, sieg heil,..." When arnie invariably screws up then you know
that people are going to bust out all kinds of quotes from his terrible
movies. People will say things like, "Arnie's budget sucked more than

of the most Democratic families in America, I am hopeful that he will wind
up being the kind of centrist that the American political system badly

Dianne Feinstein started as a San Francisco Supervisor, became Mayor
when George Moscone and Harvey Milk were murdered, and has gone on to
be a very good Senator. Since I have lived in the same area for most
of my life, I have watched her career. I fail to see where you get
this sort of image. She's effective, and works to keep Democratic
ideals alive.

Politicians have long known that voters have very short memories and that
name recognition is, in most cases, the single most important thing in an
election.
Placards on lawns with "Vote for Smith" or "No on 3" are a most effective
means of getting elected.
It's why dead incumbents (yeah, yeah, I know) get re-elected. They know the
name but not that he or she is dead.
