Just when everyone was saying the world economy was in a synchronised
recovery and the global interest rate cycle had turned, the world
changes abruptly.
While any economist will tell you that one month's number from any
series of economic data should not be relied on because it could be
revised and may not signal a trend, some numbers still have the power
to shock and awe.
