Object: O.T. Asian bowing habits
China, So I approach the stall and purchase the sweat and sour dog. He
hands me the dish with his arms straight out and his head slightly
below his arms I bow. I assume I don't bow as low as he does and that
I look at him instead of down?'
Japan, butcher bows to me emphatically, I bow back equally
emphatically, he bows back emphatically, this goes on for five or six
bows, I stop he does one more bow and quits, What is the custom here?
I take it is not the same as handshaking. See I have nothing in my
right hand.
