Henry D. Barratt Jr. wants to tap into what he sees as the source of
the best new ideas in business: the immigrant community.
While searching for new technology companies in which to invest, the
venture capitalist kept finding himself sitting around a table with
people who looked much like him: middle-aged, white and male.
Minorities and immigrants weren't knocking on his door, let alone
showing up on his holiday card list. He wasn't in their network; they
weren't in his.
