The public relations campaign isn't working.
That's because there comes a point where you can't spin reality.
In the past 48 hours, suicide blasts have killed dozens of people in
Iraq, and Paul Wolfowitz has escaped injury in an attack on his hotel.
American troops are simply not in control of a significant chunk of
the country.

The complaint is well known by now: The media are too negative, too
biased, too blind to see that the US of A is making good progress in
the conflict zone known as Iraq.
The White House has hammered home that message in recent weeks. And
each time it seems to be gaining any traction, there's another
military tragedy in Baghdad, such as Sunday's downing of a Chinook
helicopter, killing 16 soldiers.
