The grand jury was quite happy with the charges and the evidence, and
they are the ones that count, not you and Delay's invisible laws and
facts. I guess you'll just have to deal with justice hitting Delay

Ronnie Earle has brought baseless indictments before. At least one of the
grand jury members is quoted as saying that he was influenced by adverse
publicity in the media before the grand jury was even convened.

No. I will concede if he goes to trial and is convicted.
Please forgive me if I doubt your word. If he goes to trial in Austin,

b. accept the fact that DeLay was innocent
Nope. I can accept the fact that the state was unable to make

c. complain that the judge was biased
c. is unlikely, but I'll have to read the opinion.
And in a similar case, if Fitzgerald doesn't bring an indictment, or

a. is unlikely. Fitzgerald has a sterling reputation, and he's not likely
to issue a report on the matter. So I'll likely have no basis to call
Fitzgerald a partisan.
(Have Wilson or Plame been called before the grand jury or informed
that they're the subjects of the inquiry?)
b. condemn Wilson and Plame as manipulators
Plame doesn't seem to be much of an actor in this drama.
Wilson is a manipulator. But that has nothing to do with the leak.
c. make ridiculous hyperbolic accusations about Rove
In this case, there are three possible accusations against Rove:
1) he revealed the name of an undercover operative, 2) he
misused classified information, 3) he made perjurious statements
or took obstructive action.
Any, none, or all of those accusations might be substantiated.
Not one of them is in the least outlandish, along the lines, say,
of accusing Clinton of participating in the murders of 40 people
in Arkansas.
Does that answer your questions?

I figure that they certainly would. And certainly if there was any
actual information on this from our blogs you would be commenting on
it. Rather than admit that there is no evidence you try to attack one
of your favorite targets. (Of course, if I make the slightest
disparaging remark about your sources you get pouting and threaten to

I am pretty sure that both of them have been before the grand jury.
And I don't know that anyone got target letters.

If so, and there is dispute over this, how is that manipulation? He
was a reasonable person. Certainly the Administration thought so since
they sent him. A former Ambassador and good negotiator (according to
Shrub) and all that. What was wrong with sending him? That is the part
of this that I just don't get. I see that there was a White House
directed plan to discredit Wilson, I just don't see how this leak
discredited him in any way. It was an attack and a punishment, sure,
but not something to make me distrust him. SFW, from the point of view
of listening to what he said, if his wife worked for the CIA? Unless I
see the CIA as the opposition some how, what is wrong with that? My
first thought, when I first heard this stuff, was that the point was
that he was actually just acting as cover for the CIA. Which would not
discredit him either. So please tell me what is wrong with her
suggesting her ex-ambassador husband, with experience both in Africa
and Iraq, for the mission?

Wonder what evidence he has that contradicts the conclusion that
crimes were committed. What are you going to do when/if Rove and Libby
are indicted for crimes involving passing secret information that
weakened our country? When are you going to pay attention to the
stream of evidence that says that FEMA was badly run for years, that

The grand jury was quite happy with the charges and the evidence,
and they are the ones that count, not you and Delay's invisible
laws and facts. I guess you'll just have to deal with justice
hitting Delay just like it hits everyone else.
Ronnie Earle has brought baseless indictments before. At least one
of the grand jury members is quoted as saying that he was
influenced by adverse publicity in the media before the grand jury
was even convened.
Which shows how conservatives tend to be like creationists, hanging
their beliefs on the slimmest of evidence while ignoring the big
picture.
The "big picture" being that the act DeLay is accused of wasn't even
a crime.
In which case, it will be thrown out of court, no trial and Delay
Exonerated.
Now, if that doesn't happen, will you conceed that Delay is being
accused of actual crimes?
Yes or No, Fred
No. I will concede if he goes to trial and is convicted.
That would suggest that he was *guilty* of the crime. Failure of the
attempt to dismiss would say that he was accused of *real crime*.
