OT Beware: Spammer sent Netsky virus with Symantec in the "from" line |
Beware!
MailwasherPro flagged this as known spam, but I previewed it out of
curiosity, and it may look convincing to others: I merely reported it,
and NAV picked it up on the outgoing side - I guess I had previewed
enough lines for it to be recognized.

Naturally, we all know that Symantec *isn't going to broadcast an
update to us via E-mail, now, don't we?

I get butt-loads of those every day, all intercepted. A recent one was
from "atheist.com".

Funny about the distribution of viruses and spam - I'm getting loads
of spam, few viruses. But it's rare for me to see one disguised as
that from a legit name brand. Others have less spam, but an AOL user I
know is pissed at AOL's censorship of certain E-mails. Other ISP's
have introduced some sort of anti spam feature but I persist in simple
ADSL access using Microsoft and the necessary add-ons that I've touted
in the past.
I can't think of Linux now, as I decided to sell my two family house,
get out of this expensive town, and buy a tiny little house closer to
where I work. So I'm dumping lots of furniture and things, paying a
painter, having asbestos removed and busting my butt on lots of little
repairs. *****, I can't even drink during the week until I'm done. But
I digress.
What's up with all these viruses, anyway? Is it a bunch of teeners
jerking off or some organization trying to seriously muck up the
Internet? Communication *is a target in any war. And I've read that
the "approved" news media (and the US government) is pissed that they
can't censor the Internet.
I don't web surf that much, there are a certain few sites I visit, but
when I'm searching beyond that I usually (try to remember to) turn on
mobile code control in Zone Alarm.
