I was flipping through channels and caught the very tail end of his piece.
Right after that I was flipping through channels again, and a Democracy Now!
interview w/ Moyers was on local public access tv. I saw some excerpts of
the show on that and was kicking myself for missing it. I fired up the
computer a little while ago to literally kill some time while I wait to
catch the replay at 1:00 am on the local pbs station.

It was good to be reminded of all that went on as they lied their way into a
war w/ Iraq. Most of the stuff wasn't necessarily new to me, although I

Same here. I really wasn't aware of the Knight- Ridder reporters either.
I was aware of the questions about Iraq leading up to the war, but I
wasn't aware of the extent to which the media was spinning the news.

Agreed. A year ago I said the best thing that could happen to the
Democrats is for Giuliani to be the Republican candidate. Even
hypocritical conservatives, who still condemn Clinton with every free
breath, won't be able to defend the fact that as mayor, he paraded his
mistress around town and in front of his children. He spent hundreds of
thousands of NYC money on security details for her.
He got special treatment to receive military deferments during the Vietnam
War, and was safe at home when John Kerry heroically risked his life saving
fellow U.S. soldiers. Then during the disgraceful swiftboat slander, he
had the gall to wear bandaids on his nose during the '06 RNC and laugh like
a buffoon.
But, what's going to really get him is his sleazy business dealings in junk
bonds and insider trading. He charges $100K fees to appear at charity
events, often draining almost all the money that should be used for the
charity. Along with his friendship with criminals like Bernard Kerik,
pointing out his vulnerabilities will be easy (even for the Democrats).
He will further erode the right-wing christian base with his pro-choice and
gay friendly policies.
I'm really looking forward to the '08 elections.

Look at Ohio. There were precincts that reported more than 100%
turnout, and nothing happened. How did more than everyone registered

Hopefully not all Secretaries of State or thlse who oversee elections

show and was almost certainly suffering from Alzheimers while he was

The Fairness Doctrine was no help there. And public funding of elections
only guarantees that incumbents will have an even bigger advantage.
