Julian recently completed, as writer/producer/editor the four-part,
Logies-nominated series, "Plumpton High Babies" for ABC TV with Aviva
Ziegler. He has been making documentary films for twenty years.
Born in Australia to a Russian mother and English father, he was
raised and educated in England (Oxford, Sussex and the Sorbonne).
Returning to Australia in 1980, he began making documentaries on
environmental and social issues, principally for ABC TV and Channel 4
(UK). The work included "Anyone Can Be A Genius", two "Visionaries"
series on radical thinkers and practitioners: Bill Mollison; Manfred
Max-Neef; James Lovelock; Jeremy Rivkin; Frances Moore Lappe; Petrea
King; Michel Odent, and the "Global Gardener" series on Permaculture.
He was vice-president (documentary) of the Australian Screen
Director's Association between 1990-94. As well as writing &
producing, he ran his post-production business and edited for a number
of years. His (editing) work includes "The Fatal Game", "Mini-Skirted
Dynamo", "Heart Of Country" and "Shadow Of The Shark".
