OT: Did I hear this correctly? |
On the TV at work, I thought I heard that the USA is ready to spend
millions to help the victims of the tsunami.
Cheap, compared to the *billions* spent to help the oil producers from
terrorism and tyrant dictators via war..
Hmmmmm,..........
No limit to our magniminousity, huh?

The current tally is $35 million.
A comparison was made on CNN Crossfire: it is the exact same amount of money
that ***** Cheney raked in after a stock sale in August. Also, $40 million
dollars is being spent on President Dumbass's re-inauguration parties in
January.
(I dare one of you sniveling, neocon fucktards to begin chanting the mantra

On the TV at work, I thought I heard that the USA is ready to spend
millions to help the victims of the tsunami.
Cheap, compared to the *billions* spent to help the oil producers from
terrorism and tyrant dictators via war..
Hmmmmm,..........
No limit to our magniminousity, huh?
(Gee I wonder if I spelled that corecly.)
I wonder what the ratio of money spent in the last year for charity compared
to the amount of money spent on war, destruction and death is?
Probably way lopsided toward war.

They were saying on the news that a recent poll showed that most Americans
believe that their government spends as much as 25% of their budget on over
seas aide. The real figure is less than 0.25%! Anyone have a link for this
poll?

At first, Bush offered a niggardly $4 million.
Stung by comments on the utter inadequacy, he upped
it to $20 millions.
Meanwhile the estimated dead keeps climbing.
From 6,000, to 19,000, to 60,000, to 98,000.
Huge swaths of the nations hit are badly damaged,
hundreds of thousands homeless.
We spend $4 billions here after a hurricane.

Including #28 million on areas that received no damage at all. The

I thought so. It's just difficult for me to keep track of so many
