OT: Do people who were blind from birth have any form of porn? |
While I have little doubt that someone who's been blind from birth can and does
have a fantasy life that includes sex just as much as fully-sighted people, I
find myself wondering if they use anything like sighted people use pictures and
videos for porn. Do they perhaps have swaths of material that feel like skin,
or anatomical models made of soft, rubbery material?
It's not anything I've ever heard discussed. But now that I think of it, I'll
bet there could be a small niche market for porn geared towards the blind.
"Cybrflesh"-modelled body parts, in particular, are what I'm thinking, though
I'm sure there are other things one could use. Any blind people reading this
have any insight into what could or does make for good, sight-free porn? :-?

I think it might be an option of sorts, but remember - fully sighted people
don't have to touch the words to read them. Thus, they can have at least one
hand free while they read.

Seriously, though, I actually asked this question in a forum for blind people.
One of them said something relating to the erotic fiction part - that he hadn't
encountered any erotic fiction with the kind of voice-acting that was actually
designed to be a turn-on, and so it wasn't, and that unless you have a robot
fetish, getting screen readers to read the stories to him didn't do much for
him, either.
I found that quite fascinating. He didn't go into much other detail, but that
alone speaks volumes. I'm considering how best to approach a deepening of the
subject, as it's in a forum that's much less "blunt" than here and so I don't
want to risk turning anybody off.

Additionally, he made the observation that blind people in general go for what
some would call "kinky sex" because the "kinky" things tend to be quite tactile
- leather, silk, etc.... You know, I think the sex-lives of fully-sighted
people could probably really benefit from studying up on this particular
subject.
Naturally, answers have led to more curiosity. I now find myself wondering what

Interestingly enough, I had a brief exchange with my adult neice (who
has been blind from birth) about this. I mentioned that I know a person
who works as a phone order taker for Adam and Eve, and had to explain
what that business does.
She had one comment: "I've never been able to figure out how people use
that stuff." She's a college graduate with a degree in psychology. I
wasn't about to try and explain it to her...
As to your question, I don't expect to ever explore tat question myself.
